The West Virginia Investment Management Board (WVIMB) was founded in 1995 and serves as the oversight and management entity for the assets of the State’s various retirement systems.
With approximately 30 employees, the WVIMB's primary goal is to prudently invest and manage the assets of the retirement systems in order to provide participants and beneficiaries with benefits as specified by law. The board has a fiduciary responsibility to manage the systems’ assets in a manner that will provide demonstrated performance and investment returns consistent with sound investment principles and practices.
