Varsity is an early-stage VC fund based in Paris, founded by a former Société Générale executive and two VC investors who worked at Serena Capital.
The firm has already raised €70 million ($75 million) for its first fund and aims to invest in roughly 30 startups in Europe across several verticals, including finance, health, enterprise software, and climate startups. Varsity plans to invest between €1 million and €5 million in each startup and has already invested €15 million in five companies.
Its limited partners include French public bank Bpifrance, MACSF, Sogecap, and Elevation Capital Partners. The three founding members are Didier Valet, Kamel Zeroual, and Florent Thomas, who have extensive experience in the startup ecosystem.
