Systemiq Capital is a venture capital firm dedicated to backing early-stage technology founders who are addressing planet-scale problems. Spun out from SYSTEMIQ, a leading climate advisory firm, Systemiq Capital operates with a mission to accelerate the transition to a net-zero, nature-positive, and more inclusive economy. The firm focuses its investments on climate tech businesses that can drive systemic change, emphasizing strong commercial potential and scalability.

Founded in 2018, Systemiq Capital was established by a team with extensive experience in sustainability and finance, including Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever; Jeremy Oppenheim, a former sustainability chief at McKinsey; and Irena Spazzapan, a veteran from Goldman Sachs. The firm launched its first fund in 2018 and has since deployed capital into numerous early-stage climate companies. In 2022, Systemiq Capital announced the first close of its second fund, targeting $200 million to continue its investment strategy.

The firm's investment strategy targets three core themes: Electrification, Decoding Nature, and Applied AI. Within Electrification, they focus on software for distributed energy, data centers, EV charging, power trading, and industrial efficiency. Decoding Nature involves tech-enabled platforms for biodiversity, synthetic biology, and regenerative agriculture. Applied AI brings advances in artificial intelligence to complex physical industries such as logistics, manufacturing, and real estate. Systemiq Capital also shows interest in SpaceTech solutions.

Systemiq Capital's portfolio includes notable companies like Ohme, specializing in EV charging; BaseCamp Research, which utilizes AI for biodiversity; ElectronX, the first hourly power exchange in the US; ArchetypeAI, focusing on physical AI for manufacturing; and Mixx Technologies, involved in AI infrastructure networking.
