Smart Capital is a Tunisian investment firm that serves as the official operator of "Startup Tunisia," a national initiative designed to cultivate a thriving startup ecosystem within Tunisia and across the broader Middle East & North Africa (MENA) and African regions. The firm actively manages two key funds: ANAVA, a fund of funds dedicated to venture capital investments, and Innovatech, which focuses on direct investments in innovative Tunisian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Smart Capital's investment strategy is comprehensive, supporting startups from their early stages, including Minimum Viable Product (MVP), pre-Series A, and Seed rounds, through to Series A and subsequent growth stages.

The firm was established in 2018 and was officially mandated by the Tunisian government in 2019 to spearhead the "Startup Tunisia" program. This initiative was conceived as a public-private partnership aimed at addressing economic challenges and stimulating private sector investment, thereby fostering a robust and innovative environment for startups in Tunisia.

Smart Capital's ANAVA fund of funds has made notable commitments, including a $4 million investment in Rasmal Innovation Fund I. This fund specifically targets early-stage startups in sectors such as FinTech, B2B SaaS, HealthTech, Logistics, and Supply Chain, with a focus on strengthening digital infrastructure across the MENA region. The Innovatech fund, on the other hand, is dedicated to direct investments in innovative Tunisian SMEs.

The Smart Capital team is composed of professionals meticulously chosen for their ethical standards and expertise.
