Founded in 2023 by Francesco Perticarari, Silicon Roundabout Ventures emerged from the Silicon Roundabout community, which began as a monthly meetup for engineers and founders near London's Old Street Roundabout in 2011. The community evolved into Europe's largest deep tech networking hub, eventually transitioning to a hybrid model during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve founders across the entire European continent. Perticarari transitioned from an engineering career to establish the fund with a mission to build Europe's first truly pan-European, community-driven venture capital firm exclusively focused on deep tech pre-seed and seed investments, closing Fund 1 at just over its £5 million target in 2023.
