Company Profile
SIBA Invest AB is a family-owned investment company based in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a strategic focus on capital management and long-term investments. The firm primarily targets Nordic listed and unlisted companies that demonstrate international growth potential. The Bengtsson family, owners of SIBA Invest, brings extensive experience from their long-standing involvement in the retail, banking, and insurance sectors.
The origins of the family's business ventures trace back to 1951 when Folke Bengtsson established SIBA, a modest neighborhood store in Gothenburg specializing in radios and chandeliers. Under the leadership of Folke's son, Bengt Bengtsson, the business underwent significant expansion, notably opening the Nordic region's first radio and TV hypermarket in 1974. This entrepreneurial spirit further led to the creation of Resurs Finans in 1983, which later evolved into Resurs Bank, and Solid Försäkringsaktiebolag in 1993, an insurance company. SIBA Invest AB itself was incorporated in 1978.
Currently, SIBA Invest holds significant stakes in prominent Nordic companies. The firm is a part-owner of Komplett ASA, recognized as the largest e-retailer in electronics across the Nordics, encompassing brands such as NetOnNet, Komplett, Webbhallen, and Integra, and is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. Additionally, SIBA Invest is a major shareholder in Resurs Holding AB and Solid Försäkringsaktiebolag, both active in the banking and insurance industries and listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. Recent investments include Kjell Group and Pierce Group.
The firm is led by Martin Bengtsson as CEO and Fabian Bengtsson as Chairman of the Board. The investment committee is composed of highly experienced professionals, including Fredrik Carlsson, Jan Samuelson, Carl Grapenfelt, and Günther Mårder, alongside Fabian and Martin Bengtsson. This team collectively offers a broad spectrum of expertise in finance, retail, and investment strategies, guiding SIBA Invest's long-term capital allocation.
