QVT Family Office is an investment firm that transitioned its business model in 2018 to primarily manage the capital of its principals and a select group of private investors. This strategic shift allows the firm to operate with a more stable, long-term capital base and a flexible investment mandate, enabling them to take more concentrated, longer-horizon positions. QVT originated as a non-traditional proprietary trading group within an investment bank, and its core team has over two decades of experience developing and implementing innovative, fundamental, and idiosyncratic trading strategies, often utilizing internally-developed proprietary software.

The firm's investment focus spans several core areas, including Biotech/Healthcare, Technology, Energy/Shipping, Financials/Structured Finance, and Opportunistic/Litigation. QVT has a history of being an early and significant investor in both public and private markets, with notable past investments in companies like Pharmasset and Medivation, and it seeded and remains the largest investor in Roivant Sciences Ltd. More recently, QVT Family Office has participated in funding rounds for companies such as GridPoint (Series G), QuEra (Series B), Lightsynq (Series A), Active Surfaces (Seed), and Syremis Therapeutics (Series A).

QVT Financial LP, the broader entity encompassing the family office, was founded in 2003.
