They aim to generate strong returns for investors while also creating broader societal impact through job creation and increased productivity in key industries.

The firm invests in seed and Series A rounds, with initial ticket sizes typically ranging from €1 million to €4 million, and up to €10 million in follow-on rounds. Matterwave Ventures manages approximately €250 million in assets. Their diverse portfolio includes companies like LiveEO (geospatial data), equal1 (quantum computing coprocessors), Akhetonics (all-optical processor), Effect Photonics (optical communications), and Orcan Energy (industrial heat capture). They have invested in companies across 12 countries, including Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, the Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, Belgium, and Sweden.

The Matterwave Ventures team brings over 65 years of combined investment experience, with partners and associates possessing deep expertise in engineering, physics, and technology commercialization. Key team members include Founding Partners Benedikt Kronberger and Dr. Christian Reitberger, along with Partners Ines Kolmsee and Robert Gallenberger. Their collective background, which includes experience from McKinsey, Rothschild, and various entrepreneurial ventures, enables them to provide comprehensive strategic guidance and leverage a strong industry network to support their portfolio companies.
