The firm was founded in April 2018 by JP Adams, William Brennan, Brian Nelson, and Ed Johnson. Long Path Partners derives its name from the Long Path, a 357-mile trail in New York, symbolizing their long-duration approach to investing and the cultural tenets they embrace. The firm operates a unified research platform across four capacity-constrained strategies and actively partners with management teams as engaged shareholders.

Long Path Partners has made several notable investments, including the take-private acquisition of Idox Group in October 2025, a leading supplier of specialist information management software and geospatial data solutions. Other acquisitions include Dalet Digital Media Systems in March 2021. The firm also invested in Redmap Australia in December 2025, a company in the Business/Productivity Software industry. Public holdings have included companies such as Corpay Inc., Ncino Inc., Alkami Technology Inc., I3 Verticals Inc., Docebo Inc., and Silvercrest Asset Management Group Inc.

The investment team is led by Managing Partner Will Brennan, who also serves as Portfolio Manager, and Partners Brian Nelson and Ted Keith, who are Co-Portfolio Managers.
