Korea Venture Investment Corporation (KVIC)

Established in 2005, Korea Venture Investment Corporation (KVIC) is a government-backed fund of funds management institution under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Its primary mission is to stimulate investment for the growth and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups in South Korea. KVIC plays a pivotal role in nurturing the venture capital ecosystem by providing capital to venture funds and facilitating co-investments, thereby fostering innovation and entrepreneurship across the nation.

KVIC manages the Korea Fund of Funds (KFoF), which serves as a cornerstone for venture capital investments in the country. Through KFoF, KVIC allocates capital to a diverse range of venture capital funds, supporting sectors such as information and communication technology (ICT), biotechnology, clean energy, and advanced manufacturing. By acting as a limited partner, KVIC not only provides financial resources but also encourages private sector participation in venture investments.

In addition to its domestic activities, KVIC has expanded its global footprint with offices in Menlo Park, California, and Singapore, aiming to attract foreign investment and facilitate international collaboration.
