Karma Capital is a systemic investment fund based in Berlin, Germany, dedicated to channeling capital towards solving significant societal problems. The firm was initially established in 2018 as an investment holding by Sebastian Klein, who reinvested profits from his entrepreneurial endeavors into new ventures. A pivotal moment occurred in 2023 with the sale of Blinkist, a company Klein co-founded in 2012. Following this, he committed 90% of his personal wealth to philanthropic causes, forming the foundation of the non-profit Karma Capital. Karma Capital focuses its investments in two key areas: companies operating under steward-ownership models and public-benefit media enterprises. Their portfolio includes Vyld VE, which produces tampons from algae; Wildplastic VE, specializing in circular products made from reclaimed plastic; WEtell VE, a sustainable mobile network provider; Klubtalent VE, offering coaching for professionalizing club structures; and Proservation VE, which develops innovative packaging solutions from grain husks.
