Hiro Capital is a founder-led venture capital firm based in Europe, dedicated to investing in what it terms the "Superabundant future of Humanity." The firm focuses on a thematic portfolio that includes AI, Autonomy, Robotics, Cloud and future Compute, Spatial Computing, Simulation & Games, Sports Tech, Digital Augmentation and Longevity, and Next Gen Defence & the Space Economy. Founded in 2018 by Luke Alvarez, Cherry Freeman, and Sir Ian Livingstone, Hiro Capital was established by experienced entrepreneurs with deep expertise in gaming and technology. The founders aimed to address a capital gap in the European market, particularly for post-seed funding, and believe that Europe can be a global leader in technology-driven human evolution. The firm's name is inspired by Hiro Protagonist from Neal Stephenson's novel *Snow Crash*, reflecting their interest in the metaverse and disruptive technologies.

Hiro Capital has made numerous investments in a diverse portfolio of companies. Notable investments include Advanced Machine Intelligence, Incredibuild, Kypso, Elvie, Zwift, FRVR, Carv, Skybound, FitXR, Team Liquid, and Playbook. The firm's portfolio spans various sectors, with a strong presence in gaming, esports, digital sports, and AI-driven solutions. Recent activities include co-leading a $1.03 billion round in Yann LeCun’s Advanced Machine Intelligence (AMI) and the launch of HIRO III, a new fund with a deployment capacity of €5M-€50M.

The team at Hiro Capital comprises experienced entrepreneurs and industry veterans. Managing General Partner Luke Alvarez, General Partner Cherry Freeman, and General Partner Sir Ian Livingstone bring extensive backgrounds in technology and gaming. Sir Nick Clegg, former Deputy PM and Meta executive, joined as a General Partner in December 2025, bringing expertise in government and regulation. Yann LeCun, Meta's chief AI scientist, also joined the advisory board to assess AI investments. Other key team members include Luca Suma (Investment Director, Augmentation & Longevity) and Samuel Costello (Investment Director, Cloud, Edge & AI), who contribute technical and operational expertise to the firm and its portfolio companies.
