Arãya Ventures is an early-stage venture capital firm that backs bold founders globally, focusing on companies at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm strategically invests across key sectors including Artificial Intelligence (AI), healthcare, commerce, fintech, and the future of work. With a strong emphasis on supporting innovative businesses that are shaping how people live and work, Arãya Ventures provides not only capital but also hands-on support, leveraging its extensive network, expertise, and time to help founders accelerate growth and build enduring companies.

The firm was established in 2022 by Rupa Popat, who serves as the Founder and Managing Partner. Rupa's journey into venture capital was driven by a desire to demystify angel investing and make capital more accessible to founders from diverse backgrounds. After an earlier career in investment banking and an exit from her own startup in 2019, she recognized the opaque nature of the investing landscape. This led her to build a collaborative angel community and, in 2023, launch the ĀVA Investment Academy, which trains new angel investors. By 2024, Arãya Ventures launched its first fund, building on Rupa's successful track record as an angel investor.

Arãya Ventures manages several funds, including the Arãya Super Angel Fund, the Arãya Global Fund, and the Arãya SIE Fund. The Super Angel Fund, backed by the British Business Bank, primarily invests in the UK with a global allocation, while the Global Fund targets companies across Europe, the GCC, and Asia, reserving a portion for Series A follow-ons. The Arãya SIE Fund specifically invests in women-led startups across healthcare, climate, fintech, and deeptech/AI in the UK and Europe. Notable companies in their portfolio include Aeon, Autometry, Capably, Sanius Health, Research Grid, and Stride, all leveraging technology, particularly AI, to address significant market needs.

The Arãya Ventures team comprises experienced professionals and venture partners with diverse backgrounds, offering strategic advisory and value-add programs to portfolio companies. Key team members include Rupa Popat, Mitul Ruparelia (General Partner, Global Fund), Martin Carruthers (Investment Lead, Super Angel Fund), and Triin Linamagi (Managing Partner, Arãya Sie Fund).
