Founded in 2022 by Mitchan Adams, Aions Ventures emerged from Aions Creative Technology, which pivoted to become a dedicated seed fund manager. The firm's inception was driven by a vision to reshape South Africa's startup ecosystem and unlock new paths for entrepreneurial success, especially in communities traditionally lacking access to capital. A pivotal moment in their early journey involved securing Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) funding from Telkom, which enabled them to formalize their model and scale their operations.

Aions Ventures has built a diverse portfolio of startups, including Level Finance (financial wellness), Tubby's Kitchen (cannabis manufacturing), The Awareness Company (AI-driven insights), Delivery Ka Speed (logistics), Welo (healthcare), Franc (investment platform), Credipple (remote hiring), SpaceSalad Studios (game development), Green Scooter (electric vehicles), Coco Brands (health and beauty), and Milli (social impact). The firm also operates related entities like AEX (Aions Exchange), a micro-investment platform, and Avata, a Public Benefit Organisation focused on youth empowerment and financial literacy through its Permission to Dream (P2D) initiative, as well as Usko, a trade finance tool.
