Founded in 1994 by three Tunisian entrepreneurs, AfricInvest initially focused on small and mid-cap private equity investments in Tunisia under the name Tuninvest. Recognizing the continent's vast potential, the firm expanded its regional strategy in the late 1990s to include North Africa and subsequently broadened its reach into Sub-Saharan Africa in the 2000s. Notable recent investments include Promamec (medical equipment in Morocco), Arrow Holding (HR technology and staffing in Africa), and The British University in Egypt. The firm also has a dedicated private credit arm, AfricInvest Private Credit, which provides structured debt financing solutions to African Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) for growth and expansion.

The firm boasts a team of over 100 investment professionals operating from 11 offices across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
