Accel Atoms

Accel Atoms is a pre-seed and seed-stage scaling program initiated by Accel, a global venture capital firm, in 2021. The program is specifically designed to support Indian and Indian-origin founders, regardless of their geographical location, as they embark on their entrepreneurial journey from the 0-to-1 stage. It aims to provide a catalyst for early-stage startups, offering crucial resources, mentorship, and access to Accel's extensive global network to help them achieve significant growth and 'hit escape velocity'.

The firm's investment focus is broad yet strategic, encompassing sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Technology, Software & Gaming (including SaaS, developer tools, and enterprise software), Consumer, Financial Services & Fintech, Healthcare, Healthtech & Medtech, Industrials (for Industry 5.0), and Business Services (for B2B marketplaces). Accel Atoms has a particular emphasis on AI, with dedicated cohorts like the AI Cohort 2026, and also supports 'LeapTech' innovations through its Atoms X program, which targets scientific breakthroughs and engineering ambitions in areas like climate infrastructure, space communications, and next-generation healthcare. The program typically invests up to $1M-$2M in startups, often in the form of equity or convertible notes, and has seen its portfolio companies collectively raise substantial follow-on funding.

Accel Atoms operates from Accel's Bangalore office in India, reflecting its commitment to the Indian startup ecosystem. The program is led by a dedicated team including Anand Daniel, Pratik Agarwal, and Prayank Swaroop as Program Leaders, supported by a team of investors and program specialists. Notable team members like Pratik Agarwal and Anagh Prasad bring expertise in areas such as AI, Consumer, Cloud/SaaS, and LeapTech, leveraging their backgrounds from institutions like IIT Delhi and Harvard, and prior experience at firms like Stellaris Venture Partners and Goldman Sachs.

Examples include Praan, which is developing filterless air infrastructure; QOSMIC, focused on optical communication for satellite data transfer; and Dognosis, which uses canine olfaction, robotics, and AI for cancer detection. Other areas of investment include consumer internet, business-to-business marketplaces, and developer infrastructure, demonstrating Accel Atoms' commitment to fostering diverse and impactful technological advancements.
