VenturesLab is a venture capital firm and one of China's first startup incubators, established in 2005. Founded by serial entrepreneur Mark Mai, VenturesLab was established in May 2005. Mai, a pioneer in China's venture investment field, previously co-founded Shanghai Pudong Ventures, one of China’s initial venture capital firms, and served as a venture partner at DFJ Dragon fund. Legendary venture capitalist Tim Draper, founder of Draper Associates and DFJ, also co-founded VenturesLab. The firm's inception was driven by Mai's extensive experience as both an investor and entrepreneur, seeking to understand and foster the 'genes of success' in startup development.

VenturesLab has a notable portfolio, having invested in over 70 companies. Key investments include Popmart, Link Motion, and Envio Systems. The firm's recent investments include BON Credit in the financial software industry, Aether Bio in healthcare discovery tools, and Yueshi Digital and ShunFeng DaYun in business/productivity software. Mark Mai's entrepreneurial ventures, which he founded prior to or alongside VenturesLab, also provide insight into the firm's areas of interest, including eFriendsNet (social network), TongCard (social CRM), Docin (document sharing), Togic (smart TV content), and OKCoin (Bitcoin exchange).

Mark Mai, the founder, has been recognized as a top angel investor in China multiple times and co-founded the China Young Angel Investor Association (CYAIA), serving as its current president. Tim Draper, a co-founder, is renowned for his investments in companies like Skype, Hotmail, Tesla, and Baidu, and is credited with creating viral marketing.
